: Why do we spend time and money ? For the sake of sailing
and racing of course !
The
creation of "Cercle de Voile du Bois de la
Chaize" (CVBC) stemmed from the presence of over
twenty classic keelboats in the Baie de Bourgneuf, whose
owners were keen to race locally.
[ In fact it was a revival because we discovered 1908
statutes ! ]
In 1994 and
1995 the CVBC brought together the local fleet in tough but
friendly training races.
In 1996 and 1997, the Club organised class Championships
named "Championnats de Bretagne sud", attracting
some twenty Requin and Dragon each year.
In 1998, the French Requin Owners Association (AFPR) put
the CVBC in charge of organizing the 48th Requin
National Championship. The race, held in Noirmoutier,
boasted of record participation with 34 Requin.
In 1999, the
Club went further, launching a new race named "Open de
Noirmoutier", a broader competition open to all 8mR,
6mR, 5.5mR, Requin, Dragon which came from the French coast
and from other European countries.
The 2000 "Open Lancel de Noirmoutier" has been
competed on August 5 to 7.
2001 Open Lancel included the 51th Requin
National Championship on the first week of August.
LANCEL
CLASSIC regattas went on from the 2nd to the 5th
of August 2002 (45 boats) including the "6mR Atlantic
Challenge" (6 boats)
From the 1st
to the 3rd of August 2003 we welcomed a true
star of classic sailing world : "NAN" owned by
Philippe MENHINIC... and "PEN DUICK" as well , Marie
helming, out of 51 boats with nice weather conditions for
our LANCEL CLASSIC regattas.
We have been
much involved in 2004 regattas season : LANCEL CLASSIC
regattas of course but National and European Requin
Championships as well, then as usual our Défi BAYER (match
racing). Regattas for year 2005 have been a great success
as well.
Nice windy
weather for Lancel
Classic 2006 regattas (53 boats). 2007 gathered 48 boats
LADY TRIX and MERRY DANCER were part of them.
Keep enjoying
life !
